The Satisfied Rose

Many of us allow people and circumstances to determine our joy level. When we do so, our joy level doesn't end up very high; in actuality, it runs low 90% of the time. If we plan to do something and it doesn't get done for one reason or another, our day is ruined. If our parents, significant other, brother, sister, etc says (or doesn't say) something that hurts our feelings, we seem to focus on it more than anything else the rest of the day. Is there a way to solve our dissatisfaction problem? The answer is yes: if you try to please God and God alone, you'll find yourself satisfied with life..."You [God] make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11). If we focus on satisfying Jesus Christ then he will not disappoint because when you please Him, he brings forth blessings. Jesus is perfect and without sin, so there is no way he can disappoint you. When others fail you, turn to Jesus. If you focus on pleasing Him and Him alone, you will find yourself to be a much more joyful rose. He will pick your rose off the ground where others are capable to crush it and he will raise you to a garden of satisfaction that only He can reach!
